Business Recycling Sites
Businesses are not permitted to use household facilities at Somerset Recycling Centres or Community Recycling Sites but can use chargeable facilities at these recycling centres:
• Bridgwater (Saltlands)
• Taunton (Priorswood)
• Wellington (Poole)

Hazardous waste items marked in red on the price list need to be accompanied by a Hazardous Waste Transfer Note. A copy can be downloaded and completed from the following government website
If you are in the building or allied trades, or are carrying waste on behalf of a third party, you must hold a valid waste carrier’s license from the Environment Agency.

Vehicle and trailer permit scheme – changes to vehicle use and access times
Business users must comply with Somerset Waste Partnership’s vehicle and trailer permit scheme that aims to cut congestion. Business users do not need and cannot apply for permits.
These vehicles and trailers cannot be used at any Somerset recycling site from Monday 3 October (but see business user exceptions, below): van over 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight (GVW); box van, Luton van; van with trailer; pock-up with trailer; agricultural vehicle; horsebox; box trailer; trailer over three-metre floor length or with more than one axle.
Business users can bring commercial waste business sites using: van up to 3.5T GVW; pick-up with single or double cab; single-axle trailer up to three-metre floor length towed by a car, including estate, 4×4, people carrier, campervan; or car without trailer. IMPORTANT: Businesses can use these vehicles at eight of the 10 business sites on weekdays when open and 1pm-4pm Saturdays only, but not Sundays or 8am-1pm Saturdays. Business user exceptions: At Highbridge and Taunton (Priorswood) Recycling Centres only, at any time when they are open, commercial waste can be deposited using any vehicle, trailer or combination in the above two lists, subject to the safety instructions of recycling site staff.

Commercial Recycling Ltd offer a Trade Waste Recycling and Disposal Centre at Southwood Disposal Site near Evercreech, Shepton Mallet for the following materials:
• General commercial waste (loose and compacted),
• Construction and demolition waste,
• Site waste,
• Green waste,
• Dry mixed recyclables (glass, cardboard, paper, metal, plastic etc),
• Farm plastics,
• Mixed plastics,
• Wood waste (grades A and B),
• Inerts inc. clay, hardcore, concrete, tarmac,
• WEEE (electrical) waste,
• Hazardous Waste (please contact head office for details).
