Business Recycling Centre open at Williton
The site, run by Viridor, is to the rear of the Williton Household Waste Recycling Centre and provides extensive recycling facilities at very competitive prices for small and medium businesses in West Somerset. Glass bottles can be disposed of for just £1.00 per recycling crate, while cardboard and paper costs just £2.00 per for a 90 litre sack full. This is the first dedicated business facility developed by Somerset Waste Partnership in the west Somerset area.
When asked why Somerset Waste Partnership is improving its support to businesses as well as managing household waste, Steve Read, Managing Director explained: Weve been very successful in increasing household recycling rates but because of the way we are funded weve not been able to do as much as wed like to for businesses. When the opportunity to apply for funding to develop this came along we jumped at the chance. West Somerset in particular is clearly an area that could do with a facility of this kind, so we found space at our Williton site to help businesses in the district.
The new site has been partly funded by the governments Business Resource Efficiency Programme and will be managed by Viridor on behalf of Somerset Waste Partnership. To find out more about the facilities available at the new site contact Viridor on 01823 422460.
