Recycling site opening times
There are fourteen Recycling Centres and four Community Recycling Sites open throughout the week in Somerset.
All sites are open 40 hours per week on 5 days. They open at 8am and shut at 4pm, except Monday when they are open until 7pm and Sunday when they are open until 1pm. All sites close on two days during the week, with half the sites open on Tuesday and Wednesday and half on Thursday and Friday, so there is always a local alternative open.
All sites are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Recycling Centres are free to enter, but there are £2 entry fees at the four Community Recycling Sites (CRS), as listed in table below, to help avoid their closure. There is no charge for depositing household materials and items, but at all sites there are charges for four materials – soil, hardcore, gas bottles and tyres – not classed as household waste.
