All materials taken at 16 recycle sites; full safety measures

All materials are being taken at Somerset’s 16 recycle sites, which are operating with full safety measures.

Materials taken include all those with charges (tyres, gas bottles, soil and hardcore, vehicle parts), and those requiring advance online payment (asbestos, plasterboard).

All sites are open on their usual hours.

Visitors must take responsibility to keep themselves and others safe. Check government restrictions on travel when planning a visit. Safety measures include:
* Floor markings and other signs to help maintain social distancing
* Site staff cannot assist with unloading under any circumstances
* Maximum two people per household; wear gloves outside vehicles
* No people with COVID-19 symptoms, or those asked to shield
* Wash or sanitise hands before and after visits. Wear gloves and a mask if you can.
* Permits continue – https://www.somersetwaste.gov.uk/apply-for-a-permit/ – no twin-axle trailers, no vans or pick-ups etc over 3.5 tonnes, at any time

All sites open Saturday-Sunday 9am-4pm; weekday hours all sites 9am-5pm winter October-March, 9am-6pm summer April-September.

* Thursdays Bridgwater, Chard, Frome, Highbridge, Minehead, Somerton, Taunton, Wellington, Wells, Yeovil.
* Fridays Bridgwater, Chard, Frome, Highbridge, Minehead, Somerton, Taunton, Wellington, Wells, Yeovil.
* Saturdays and Sundays all sites open.
