One-day-later collections after May bank holidays Emma-Sophie Gerrish April 30, 2019May 21, 2019 Latest News May’s bank holidays mean one-day-later collections from every home in Somerset during those weeks. The Spring Bank Holiday on Monday 27 May sees one-day-later pick-ups during that week, including collections for Friday 31 May taking place on Saturday 1 June. Top collection tips: • Put boxes and bins where they can be easily seen on the edge of your property by 7am on collection day and no earlier than the night before. Do not block pavements or roads. Take containers in as soon as possible after collection. • Sort items in boxes, do not use carrier bags, and use only boxes from your local council. • Stack boxes with locked food waste bin on top to stop your waste becoming litter. • Help collection crews by parking so our lorries can access your street.
