Service update: Thursday 10 June Nick Cater June 10, 2021June 11, 2021 Latest News Thursday 10 June – Crews have stepped up their efforts to restore collections following recent service disruptions but there may still be a small number of delayed collections today. We have no reports of delayed collections from Mendip, Somerset West and Taunton, or South Somerset. In Sedgemoor, the truck collecting rubbish from Polden Hills villages and nearby has today Thursday been replaced after a breakdown, so the crew are now (5pm) running late. If any homes are not completed, they are expected to be picked up tomorrow Friday from 7am. Yesterday’s three small delayed collections in South Horrington, Watchet and Wookey were completed this morning, while we expect up to 850 of the garden waste backlog will have been cleared by the end of today, with more planned for Friday and Saturday. If a collection has been missed, report it as usual after 7pm on due day using My Waste Services menu at somersetwaste.gov.uk. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience.
